Right now, we are facing an inconvenient truth about local leadership at City Hall. There's been a gross lack of respect. A lack of unity. A failure of tone and of temperament. No one has stepped up to cool the temperature, to stop the division, the attacks, the finger-pointing. Those fights have not delivered improvements in the lives of the people. Instead of leadership and results, we had loud voices and small thinking from the City Council Leadership and Mayor's Office. We can't let that continue. Helena Moreno has had eight years on the City Council to show up for the city. Instead, she focused on her own political ambitions, instead of the needs of the people, thinking the messier the city, the better argument she'd have for her own run for mayor. Mayor Cantrell will not be in City Hall next year, nor should Helena Moreno.

Royce Duplessis

Trusted Leader for a New Generation: Royce represents a new generation of leadership. He brings a fresh perspective and the ability to bridge the city’s history with its future.

Fighter for Working Families: In Baton Rouge, Royce stood up to Republicans and corporate interests and won. He delivered jobs to New Orleans and fought predatory insurance companies that hurt homeowners.

Champion for Affordability: Royce will work to make New Orleans a more affordable city in which all families can thrive by increasing access to affordable housing and lowering homeowners' insurance costs.

Independent of City Hall Dysfunction:  Royce is not part of the failed leadership in City Hall. He will bring accountability, results, and unity to a government that has been stuck in chaos.

Helena Moreno

Self-Serving Politician:  Moreno has spent eight years on the City Council focused on her own ambitions instead of the needs of the people. She benefited from dysfunction, calculating that the messier the city became, the better it would serve her run for mayor.

Part of Chaos at City Hall: Moreno was a leading voice on the Council during the Cantrell years. Utilities went up under her watch while residents saw no relief. At the same time, tens of thousands of people left New Orleans because they could no longer afford to live here.

Out of Touch and Corporate Backed:  Moreno is a out-of-touch politician aligned with corporate interests and republicans who refuses to take accountability for any of the problems at City Hall. She represents the same self-interest and cronyism that have put profits over people. In fact, Moreno's PAC was sued by Pastor Emanuel Smith for illegal coordination, with evidence of using a false racial smear to raise money.

Record of Failure: If voters want to know what Moreno would do as mayor they only have to look at her time on the Council. She allowed rates to rise, an $100 Million budget deficit, left families to struggle, and presided over a shrinking city population.
